In the afternoon of 25th April 2016, PI Berlin will be hosting an event at the Kingsway Hall Hotel in central London.
Please join us to hear about relevant experience dealing with quality issues in PV plants relevant for asset managers, investors and financiers of solar projects. Performance and Quality Aspects of PV Plants
The main focus of investors and lenders in the UK and European PV markets has shifted from new project developments to acquisition transactions and asset management.
At our event in London we will present our expertise most relevant to these two activities. Firstly we will introduce our systematic evaluation process for operational assets called PQ Rating, which is a tool for the technical due diligence used in the acquisition of projects. Secondly we will share our experience detecting commercially significant technical issues in PV plants and how we have proceeded in resolving these issues with EPC contractors and module suppliers. We expect to have lively discussions with all of our attendees from the PV and financial community.
Systematic Evaluation of PV Plants – PQ Rating: PI Berlin together with its partner in the UK, British Board of Agrément, has developed a technical due diligence tool to assist decision-makers verify the performance and quality of PV assets. The presentation will explain the methodology applied focusing on the various technical aspects of PV plants that are inspected and highlight their commercial relevance and risk.
Operational Quality Issues and the Warranty Claim Process – PI Berlin has been involved in numerous operational projects to investigate performance related issues caused by module and system deficiencies. Common problems detected in the UK and Europe are PID, isolation errors, and module cracks. Once identified, what options are available to the operator to resolve the problem and potentially claim for damages? The presentation will share examples of PI Berlin’s customized methods and highlight experiences negotiating with EPC contractors and module suppliers.
