As part of an internship in the PV System Services business unit, the opportunity will be granted to gain insight into the PI Berlin AG Power Plant department. The tasks range from the review of PV Power Plant planning through yield simulation to the on-site assessment of PV systems in various regions worldwide.

The Quality Assurance and Failure Analysis carried out by PI Berlin AG in the field include not only visual inspections of all components but also the measurement of PV modules by means of electrical and optical methods.

The proposed internship offers the opportunity to specialize in the field of photovoltaics in a globally recognized, independent company. Furthermore, the diverse range of tasks offers the opportunity to apply techniques and contents learned in the course of study while setting personal goals. The impressions gained during the internship should then lead to a Bachelor/Master Thesis or a Student Research Project. The topic of the thesis should be based on a combination of in-house requests and major fields of study.

The internship and the subsequent final thesis will be technically supervised for the entire duration by a selected employee. In parallel, there is a possibility of a Student assistant job.

An independent, goal-oriented and responsible way of working are expected. Structured handling of large amounts of data, prior knowledge of spreadsheets, programming skills and basic knowledge in electrical engineering and metrology is an advantage. A willingness to travel (power plant on-site inspections), as well as the ability to work under dynamic outdoor conditions, are a must.

Very good command of spoken and written English or German is necessary.
